Pro Tools beat making can be a tricky business because unlike programs like reason, Pro Tools does not have a build in Audio sequencer so you have to work in a bit more of a manual way.
The beat making process in Pro Tools is as follows…
- Choose all your drum sounds from your sample library and cut them up nice and tight
- Make a track for each drum in Pro Tools
- Turn on snap to grid
- Make a single bar of your beat
- Loop it until you want a change in the song
This take a long time but the results can sound much more natural than with a drum machine.
